| 7/1: This past Friday, UGHH was blessed to have the one and only Immortal Technique come and perform at UGHH for an in-store that will be remembered for a long time - absolutely incredible! A free 30+ minute performance, autographs, photos - and to top it off, E.M.C. (Masta Ace, Wordsworth, Punchline + Stricklyn) came to UGHH that same night! One of our favorite days at "work" ever!  | | 6/28: "It’s the first of the fuggin’ month…finally! Anyway, no dang theme here; however, you may say NYC “golden era” type ish (whatever that means) minus a couple cuts. I made this mix right before I left the West to come back East for the summer to bump and burn to as I cruised through that sh*tty state of Nebraska. I took my two dogs, my kitty, my studio crap, and a mason jar of Oregon’s finest along for the 3300 mile trek - a trip I made dolo in three days sleeping in my girl’s small ass VW and eating sunflower seeds. Anyway, I’m back in the East where people walk fast, are on time, yell at each other, and where there’s an abundance of white dudes with mullets rather than with stankin’ ass dreads…great to be home. No more hippy ass drum circles in my backyard, but dang, I miss the Oregon micro brews. Okay, so I guess this description is more like a diary, but I’ll have you know that the joints in this mix are some of my favorites of all time, or, well, dope enough to keep me on blast through parts of Wyoming and into NB. Had to throw in a cut off of the Immortal Tech album that everybody is either hatin’ on or jock-riding…my humble opinion: Tech problematically outshines the beats. BUMP THIS ISH!!!" - DJ Food Stamp

Somewhere at the darkest fringe of the griot tradition exists B. Dolan, effortlessly shifting shape between poet, musician, clown, activist and performance artist. Since 2001, a series of gritty, spectacular performances have earned Dolan considerable notoriety; both for their controversial and challenging subject matter, and the brutal intensity with which they are delivered. 'The Failure,' Dolan's debut release, represents the most comprehensive collection of his recordings, works, and performances to date.
2003 saw the first release of 'The Failure,' [at the time] a two-disc, homegrown demo full of Dolan's earliest work. What 'The Failure' lacked in execution, it made up for in rawness, concept, and novel approach; 200 copies of the cd were distributed in jewel cases without covers.
In the midst of developing the ragged, breakdown aesthetic seen in his most recent work, Dolan conceived (and co-founded) the Knowmore.org website with former slam teammate and friend Sage Francis. Dolan joined Francis on The Knowmore.org Tour in 2005 in support of the project, which is when Francis expressed interest in releasing a revised version of 'The Failure' on Strange Famous Records (SFR.) Faced with the original demo's wide scale release, Dolan undertook the task of completely reworking the 2 year 'Failure.'
